New Braunfels has a great variety of great restaurants. Here are a few we personally
recommend, as well as a list of additional options.

Dan and Helena with the Huisache Pig.

Huisache Grill
- (pronounced “wee-satch”) We highly recommend you check this place out! – wonderful,
reasonably-priced, incredibly fresh food. They also have a wine bar. They’re just
south of the railroad tracks by downtown in a really cool area called Grass Market
in a renovated building with a great history. The Grass Market area contains several
boutique shops and a nice outdoor seating area. This is about a six-block walk from
the Faust Hotel. Nice web site, check it out!
Grist Mill
- The name doesn't sound very appetizing, but this is *the* place to eat when you
are in the area. If it's cold outside sit in the bar by the potbelly stove and try
a Bloody Mary stirred with a pickled green bean. If it is nice outside, sit on the
deck and look down at the scenic Guadalupe River. And there's always the beer garden!
Johnny Carino’s
- This is a chain restaurant, but it is reliable for yummy Italian food at a reasonable
price. Dan LOVES their Italian Margaritas!
