Microbrewery at the Faust Hotel.

Faust Hotel
- Built in 1929, rooms are continually being updated. A recent visit found rooms
to be small, clean and simply furnished with antiques. Beds were comfortable and
bathrooms were updated. The bar and lobby are lovely, and the bar features a microbrewery
and is open until midnight on Friday night and 1am on Saturday night. Complimentary
continental breakfast is served in the lobby. Rates range from $64 to $84 per night.
Ask for the Abbing/Thomas block, which has been extended through Friday, September 8th.
After Friday regular rates will apply. Phone: 830.625.7791.
Various condominiums
- Located approximately four to six blocks from the reception site. The Inverness
Condominium complex is closest, and appear to be very nice and modern. Their off-season
rate is $130/night, and all units are two-bedroom. Some have one bath, some have
two, and they all have kitchens and washer/dryers, so it’s a pretty good deal if
you have a group staying together. I think they all have balconies, and some overlook
the Comal River. Units are individually owned, so you book through the website below,
or call their toll-free number: 1-800-990-4386. This company also rents various
homes in the area. If it says it’s on the Comal River or near Schlitterbahn, it’s
near the reception site. If it says it’s on or near the Guadalupe River, it’s about
a ten to fifteen minute drive from the reception site.
Prince Solms Inn
- Located approximately four blocks from the reception site, and about one to two
blocks from the main square downtown. Rooms are a bit more pricey, but it has a
good reputation. They have a piano bar and outdoor courtyard. Rates range from $125
to $175. Phone 830.625.9169.
Holiday Inn
- Expect prices of approx. $80 - $99/night. Phone: 830.625.8017. Located approx.
2 miles from the reception site on IH35, Exit 189 on the west side of the freeway.
They have a restaurant and lounge, and it has a good reputation. Fully renovated
in 2002.
Hampton Inn
- Expect prices of approx. $99 – 109/night. Ask for the “Hit the Road” rate – should
be $99. Phone: 830.608.0123. Located approx. 2 miles from the reception site on
IH35, Exit 189 on the west side of the freeway. Clean, comfortable rooms with coffee
maker, iron and ironing board, and complimentary in-room movie channel and high
speed internet access. Complimentary breakfast is offered in the lobby.
Comal Inn
- This is where we stayed during the 2004 Wurstfest. (Have you noticed the picture
of Helena in the Chicken Hat? That was taken on the front porch of the Comal Inn.)
We loved it so much we decided to book the entire place and fit as many of our immediate
family in as possible. So it's already full for the wedding, but if you ever want
to stay in New Braunfels without the fuss of a Bed & Breakfast, but somewhere other
than a hotel, check this place out.
